BBQ and Canoe Splash event

Brentford Lock West BBQ and canoe splash event – 4-8pm on Wednesday 14th July 2010 at Grounds Cafe & Wine Bar, Brentford Lock. Come along to help celebrate the launch of a new canoe base at Brentford Lock West and to get an update on the proposals which were presented to the community in February. Come and try out canoeing* and hear about other temporary uses for the site.
*Bring along a towel, shorts and old clothes you don’t mind getting wet.

Welcome to the Brentford Lock West Project. This site has been prepared by ISIS Waterside Regeneration. ISIS is a waterside development company which owns much of the land and buildings in the Commerce Road area of Brentford. ISIS previously tried to secure planning consent for a development on the Commerce Rd area a few years ago which did not have the support of the local Council, local groups, agencies and many people of Brentford.
Since that time we have been trying to listen to local people’s views, to better understand the area and what is important to people in order that we can respond to this. We realise that we need to work much closer with the Local Council (London Borough of Hounslow), other local agencies and most importantly local people to ensure that any proposals for Brentford’s waterside have their support.
This website attempts to act as a source of information about the Brentford Lock West Project and provide a place where people can get in touch and let us know their views as proposals for the area are developed.
